John Puliui and Panteleimon Kulish

4 February Chernihiv Historical Museum named VV. Tarnowska museum hosted meeting, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of John Pul'uj (1845–1918) - famous physicist, Inventor X-rays, the translator of the Bible into Ukrainian.

Born in Ternopil, Austro-Hungarian citizen John Puliui prysluzhyvsya Ukrainian culture.

During the event, senior fellow guests said Zinaida Petkova interesting facts from the life of a researcher, acquainted with the materials Ivan Pul'uj, stored in museum collections - photographs and letters. Mentioned in the museum meeting the famous Ukrainian writer, historian Panteleimon Kulish, which combined with Pul'uj cooperation on the translation of the Bible into Ukrainian.

Visitors toured the museum relic - Ivan sent a wreath on the grave Pul'uj Panteleimon Kulish to 3 day anniversary of his death. Silver laurel wreath is the inscription: "In memory of unforgotten second Kulish. Puliui 12/23/1899 ". This monument made in Prague, where John lived with his family Puliui. Garland made famous master silversmith Alfred Pollak. From the speech of the chief keeper of the museum Anna Arendar present learned about the origin of this unique monument and the relationship of the spouses Pul'uj John Kulish.
