28 January 2021 , in Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnowski will open the exhibition "Peter Ivanovich Smolichev - archaeologist and museologist", dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the famous scientist.
In 1923–1931, Petro Ivanovych worked in the museums of Chernihiv: initially head of the 2nd Soviet Museum, later - the archaeological department of the Chernihiv State Museum. During 1925–1927, an expedition led by Peter Smolichev carried out archaeological research of a complex of ancient Russian monuments. (wife's burial and mound) near the village. Shestovytsia, Chernihiv district.
